12:39 - 10.03.2010

Prague - The Prague bourse (BCPP) firmed and the PX index was 0.32 percent stronger at 1,175.4 points at around 11:30, the bourse has said.

Komercni banka (KB) bank and mining company NWR were doing well in morning trade.

KB added 1.52 percent to Kc3,809 and NWR gained 2.06 percent to Kc197.49.

Power producer CEZ, which was 0.56 percent higher at Kc895.50, and media company CME, whose shares improved by 1.42 percent to Kc571, also contributed to the market´s growth.

Philip Morris CR, in contrast, was the biggest loser, its stock losing 1.32 percent to Kc10,105.

Other markets in Central Europe are also moving upwards, the server Patria Online said.

Tereza Spackova of Patria Direct said the Prague market suffers from low liquidity. The second half of the week could, however, see a revival after release of US economic data. They could set a further trend and move the markets which might either test new peaks or go down from their current relatively strong levels, Spackova said.
